Stephen, founder of Bronze-art, has always had a passion for the countryside and watching working Springer Spaniels in action was the initial inspiration to capture that remarkable symbiosis between us and our dogs in a Game Shooting series of foundry cast bronze sculptures.
From his experience of these and other dogs has come the Trilogy 'Man with Springer' shown below, and a single sculpture 'Lady with Labrador'. These have proved popular as retirement/leaving presents for Company Chairmen or CEO's etc. who are shooting enthusiasts. For further images and details of these and of individual dogs see the Bronze shooting Gallery page.
Stephen has extended his range of sculptures to other aspects of the countryside to include a Shepherd at lambing time, another training a sheepdog, and the first four of a series of old country characters (example shown below). These along with a couple of gambolling lambs are shown on the Bronze Countryside Gallery page.
Yesterdays Gallery page has been added to capture memories of the past, such as Hopscotch, and schoolboy football. The recent interest in WW1 and what the war horses and soldiers endured has inspired an important new sculpture of a war horse and soldier - 'Survivors', shown below.
Where suitable, sculptures are also available in cold cast bronze resin as a less expensive (but more fragile) alternative to foundry cast bronze.
Stephen also undertakes, after extensive consultation, bespoke foundry cast bronze commissions - each a unique piece of art in its own right. An example of a completed commission is shown at the end of the commissions page.
PRICES. Please note, due the volatile price of bronze and increasing foundry costs, prices for hot cast bronzes are now 'Price On Application' . Please use 'Contact' page.
